    1 Btw, I am not convinced that `cpdef`ing the class makes initializations faster, I'd bet on the contrary. When I understand it correctl, `cpdef` creates two classes in the background, an extension type and a usual Python class. Since we don't expect a benefit on runtime, it should even slowdown things. But maybe I just got things wrong here.
