  • Ticket #26856 – Description

    v116 v138
1 Now everything needed is already in GAP's tarball.
1After the upgrade to GAP 4.10 in #22626, we revisit what
2GAP packages are available in Sage via the GAP standard
3SPKG and via extra optional SPGKs.
    24
3 There is also no more copyright-induced hassle of having `database_gap`
4 separate and optional, although `gap_packages` still need a look at the respective copyrights (if we wish to make it standard).
5All GAP packages formerly in our "database_gap"
6optional SPKG, except tomlib, now get installed
7with GAP as part of our "gap" standard SPKG.
     8
9This ticket adds tomlib to the "gap" standard SPKG
10and removes the "database_gap" optional SPKG.
     11
12(All packages previously in "database_gap" have
13GPL-compatible licenses and can therefore be
14distributed as part of the "gap" standard SPKG
     15without license worries.)
     16
17We also update the list of extra GAP packages
     18in gap_packages, which remains a separate and
     19optional SPKG.
     20
21Once the present ticket is merged, GAP packages
22shipped with the "gap" standard SPKG and with
23the "gap_packages" optional SPKG are as follows.
