    22> Sage doesn't have anything quite like Debian alternatives that I'm aware of.  But it could, at least for the specific case of linear algebra libraries, and I think that would be a little nicer than the current situation where installing ATLAS just (partially) clobbers OpenBLAS and vice-versa.

    4 I think it's overkill to allow side-by-side installation of different BLAS installations within Sage. I agree that there should be a choice (just like we already have between MPIR and GMP or between Python2 and Python3) but there is no need to support two installations at the same time.
